Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Louth which left a man with an injured hand. The attack happened at around 10.30pm on Sunday January 26 at a property in Ramsgate.

Four or five males in dark clothing attended the property through a yard at the rear, and one attacked the occupier with a chisel.

The victim is a 39-year-old man, who suffered tendon damage to his hand and was initially treated at hospital in Grimsby before being transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary for specialist treatment.

The attackers may have left the area in a dark coloured car, and police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything that might assist with the investigation.
