Mast plans get council approval

PLANS for a 60 metre high anemometer mast at Thorpe Farm in Trusthorpe have been given approval by Mablethorpe Town Council.

Planning committee members supported the application made by Airvolution Energy Ltd providing the requirements of Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust are met, these include a ‘bird deflector’ and survey into the impact on protected species in the area.

Spokesperson for planning agent Savills, Nicola Perkin, said the application for the temporary mast, which could be sites for up to 18 months, were in the early stages.

The mast would test the wind speed of the area in order to look at the possibility of two new 100 metre high wind turbines.

The application will now go to East Lindsey District Council who will have the final say in the coming months.

The plans can be viewed on the district council’s website, application: N/110/00267/12.
