The chairman of the Louth Men’s Shed has confirmed that the group is going to move away from their Charles Street premises - just weeks after moving into the pavilion for the first time.
Chairman Greg Gilbert told the Leader that the Men’s Shed will be moving into a new venue at a unit in Thames Street as soon as possible, despite only being handed the keys to the pavilion at the beginning of March.
Mr Gilbert said: “I won’t go into the reasons, but it was clear that being there would have caused us many difficulties as our new home is out of the way and we can just get on with things.”
“I must add that this decision has not been taken lightly, but given the difficulties that have appeared with the Charles Street idea it would be best all round to move”.
The Louth Men’s Shed had recently come under fire from some members of the public - to the extent that the issue was even raised at a recent town council meeting - after ploughing up part of the adjacent bowling green to create a wild flower garden.
