An InfoCentre set up in Sutton on Sea has helped to bring back vital services into the community giving residents easy access.
The Meridale InfoCentre was devised by John Monk MBE to provide an easy to reach access point for the predominantly retired residents in the community for local services such as mailing and printing facilities.
John said: “I set up the InfoCentre as I thought there was a real need for it and I wanted to provide an easy access point with everything in one place that was close by for members in this community to get to.
“It has been running since September 2013, it started off as a slow build up, but over the last couple of months, it has really started to take off.”
The InfoCentre is open every Friday from 10am-4pm for 52 weeks of the year.
Some of the services that are on offer include, representatives from the Credit Union, a lost and found office, home security advice and property making facilities.
There’s also the opportunity to meet the Mablethorpe and Sutton town clerk on a fortnightly basis and councillor surgeries including town, district and county councillors, plus our Mablethorpe Leader reporter surgeries that happen fortnightly.
Plus a printing service, a discounted Royal Mail postal service and a shredding facility for documents and data storage devices and a cuppa tea and a chat is even on offer throughout the day.
John added: “I’m hoping over the summer months we’ll even have visitors to our coastline stop by and use our multi-access facilities.”
InfoCentre participant and development officer for Lincolnshire Credit Union, Trevor Larder said: “The Meridale InfoCentre is a very useful resource to us and helps us to provide affordable and responsible credit and loans to people in the community.
“We like to be able to come and meet local residents. Our next set-up at the Meridale will be this Friday (May 16) from 10am-1pm.”
