Miles in the mountains to help outdoor centre

A RUNNER from Louth is to take part in the gruelling overnight Original Mountain Marathon in Scotland.

Miles Bradshaw works as an outdoor activity instructor at North Yorkshire Youth outdoor activity centre and is doing the marathon to raise money for them.

He will tackle the 45km event on October 29.

He said: “This is the first time I have done a mountain marathon. You have to carry your tent and stove with you and camp overnight.”

He is doing the challenge with Brett Edgeworth from Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire Youth aims to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people through the facilities at Carlton Lodge Outdoor Centre.

The Original Mountain Marathon is the most prestigious mountain marathon internationally, testing teamwork, self-reliance, endurance and outdoor navigation over two days.
