THE junior children at Donington on Bain Primary School are now enjoying first-class music tuition in the violin and cello.
It is being delivered by Janet Briggs from the award-winning Lincolnshire Schools Music Service.
“We are delighted to be offering this to our pupils and the long-term nature of this project means that a child in Year 3 will have experienced four years of high-quality music tuition by the time they leave our school,” said acting headteacher Louise Anyan.
When the children were asked what they thought about the music lessons it was all very positive.
Year 5 pupil Jess Yorkshire said: “It gives you a chance to learn more about music.”
Other children said: “It’s fun to do and we all get our own instrument!” and: “It gives everyone a chance to learn music.”
