RESIDENTS looked on with pride as the Trusthorpe Community Garden was opened after three-and-a-half years of hard work and dedication.

Thanks to the Trusthorpe Neighbourhood Management Residents Forum, the village now has a beautiful community area for local people to enjoy replacing a previously unused piece of land.

The garden will also be the location of the Trusthorpe Christmas tree and will host a special carol service in December to mark the occasion.

The garden was made possible thanks to grants from Awards for All, Community Spaces, and donations from past and present Mablethorpe Town Councillors.

Debbie Prince, East Lindsey District Council Neighbourhood Projects Officer, said: “I have worked with the residents all the way on this project which has been quite a journey going from the original design that was put together by Colin Greenaway in 2008.

“It has been a huge pleasure in working with such dedicated residents, who never once gave up as they wanted to see the end result.”

The next residents’ forum meeting is Monday, November 7 at 10am at Trusthorpe Village Hall.
