Can you help a North Thoresby born actress take her production of ‘Christmas Storms and Sunshine’ to the bright lights of London?

Jane Crawshaw who is also a former pupil at King Edward VI Grammar School in Louth is the founder of Lincolnshire-based theatre company TRAUM which has been specifically selected to appear at London’s prestigious White Bear Theatre next month.

The company was only formed in earlier this year, so for them this is a huge opportunity, but in order to make this dream possible, they need to raise an additional £3,000 to make this production possible.

TRAUM have already raised enough money to cover the main costs of taking Christmas Storms and Sunshine to London, but the additional money is needed through online crowdfunding to pay for their artists’ fees.

They are already half way to their £3,000 target, but they only have until 4.30pm this Thursday (November 27) to raise the rest or else they won’t receive anything, so every penny really does count.

Jane explained: “We fervently believe that all artists deserve to be paid. The team that we have attached to this project are of an extremely high calibre, and are award-winning in their fields.

“We’re working with the local community in Lambeth and providing opportunities for emerging artists, which the money raised through crowdfunding will also help us to achieve.”

Christmas Storms and Sunshine is a gothic twist on Elizabeth Gaskell’s classic, forgotten tale of Christmas rivalries.

Jenkins works for the Flying Post (aka bigoted and Tory), and Hodgson works for the Examiner (aka new-fangled and Liberal). They lodge in the same house.

So Christmas should be fun…quarrels, snobbery and hilarity ensue, but can they forgive and forget in time to save Christmas, and who’s eaten all the [mince] pies? Told with beautiful puppetry, live original music and bold physical storytelling, CHRISTMAS STORMS AND SUNSHINE is a seasonal show for adults like no other.

TRAUM’s crowdfunding page can be found by visiting, and all pledges, even as little as £5, are very gratefully received.
