Sarah was born in Middlesex, West London, but moved to Lincolnshire in 1971 with her parents and baby brother.
She spent her childhood in Willoughby, which she eventually shared with her two brothers and two sisters. All the children took part in various sporting and other activities and were educated at home.
Sarah obtained the top marks in the educational district, on taking her 11+, and had to sit the exam again as the authorities had difficulty in accepting the high standard she had achieved.
She was formerly a member of the Louth Athletic Club, Willoughby Judo Club, Alford Wheelers (where she was once part of a women’s record setting team), Alford Players, the Lincs Wildlife Trust and she also enjoyed ballet lessons at Janice Sutton’s dance studio at
Skegness - appearing in several of their productions. She accumulated several trophies and awards.
As an adult Sarah eventually moved to Alford and for several years she worked at the Skendleby Playgroup whilst also bringing up her two children, Gwyn and Danielle.
At this time she also achieved her ambition to gain an honours degree, which she did through the Open University. Sarah left Skendleby to go to help her sister-in-law with a new venture, the Little Lambs nursery at Grimoldby.
In 2012 she moved from Alford to Louth to be with her new partner Shaun, which proved an ideal and loving relationship, and the couple were married in May of this year. O
ne of Sarah’s greatest pleasures in the last year and a half of her life was to be with her little grand-daughter, Danielle’s daughter, Lily.
Sarah was a quiet and thoughtful person but also had great strength of character and she faced her illness with patience and great dignity. Her well attended funeral service was held at Alford Crematorium.
