One thousand metres of power cable stolen near Louth

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information after 1000 metres of power cable were stolen in South Cockerington.

Local residents in the Howdales area reported a loss of power at around 1am this morning (Thursday) and it was subsequently discovered that overhead power cables had been targeted.

Overnight, similar thefts also occurred in the Austhorpe and Theddlethorpe areas, adding to the large number of incidents that have taken place this year across Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, having affected over 44,000 Northern Power customers.

Members of the public are being asked to be vigilant to suspicious behaviour and to report concerns.
