It’s that time of year again - panto time at the Louth Playgoers Theatre and what better to watch than the classic rags to riches tale of Cinderella.
Said to be one of the most ‘magical pantomimes of all time’ - a young girl, Cinderella, is treated badly by her step-sisters and made to work as their servant.
She has a good friend in Buttons who secretly loves her and tries to help her all he can. But Cinderella falls in love with Prince Charming.
When Cinderella and her step sisters get invited to the Prince’s Grand Ball at the Palace, will her two very ugly step sisters do all they can to stop her going? Will they succeed?
Will Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother come to her aid? Of course she will, but there is a lot of fun to be had as this ‘Happy Ever After FairyTale’ unfolds.
Cinderella has all the usual characters, including a delightful Cinderella, a particularly endearing Buttons and outrageously funny Ugly Sisters.
Yet more mayhem and laughter ensues when two comic builders, Bodget and Leggett arrive to re-develop Hardship Hall.
Add in Dandini and Prince Charming not to mention a sprinkle of magic from our very own Fairy Godmother and you’ve got yourself a couple of hours of pure entertainment.
Cinderella also has a full chorus of local children and is supported by dancers from Studio 2000.
With loads of originality, audience participation, and slapstick routines this is sure to be a great start to your 2016.
