The Zero Degrees Festival got off to a great start on Friday (June 19) with the annual Party in the Pews event at St James’ Church.
Festival chairman Alan Mumby said: “In one word, Party in the Pews was fantastic.
“The church was packed and there was a great atmosphere. It was a really nice family event, right in the heart of our community.
“We had at least 100 young entertainers take part, from dancers and choirs to drummers and a ukulele band.
“It was a great start to the Zero Degrees Festival.
“It was amazing from start to finish, with people taking part from ages 4 to 84.
“What was great about it was that it wasn’t a standard sit down concert, it was something that everyone could get involved with. We even had a number of children get up off their seats and join in with the fun.
“I would just like to take this opportunity to thank St James’ Church for the use of its venue, the volunteers, the sponsors and, of course, to everyone who performed on the night and who turned up to support the event.”
