Stay away message at Wolds walking hotspot

Binbrook is a popular starting point for many rambles, and residents say that over the weekend they saw a number of cars ‘pull up and people get out to walk’.

Signs have now been put up around the village asking walkers to stay away.

Market Place resident Hilary Fry said: “It is just unbelievable they would continue to come to the village.

“We have spoken to a few people - from a distance of course - and also left notes on cars parked asking them not to come to the village to walk.

“One car load drove off after we spoke to them, but we saw them park further up High Street and then get out and walk.

“It is just unbelievable.

“We have been told to stay at home and only walk from your house, not drive out anywhere to walk.

“For people to turn up here is so frustrating.

“We have now put signs up around the village asking walkers to stay away.”

In addition, please write to your MP urging the Government to provide some additional financial support for local newspapers and their websites like this one and ensuring that supermarkets continue to stock them. I cannot stress enough how important such an intervention would be.
