Police appeal for information after assault in Louth

Police are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Church Street, Louth, shortly after 4am on Sunday May 15.

The two 22 year-olds were walking home from the town in the direction of Monks Dyke Road when they were attacked from behind by a group of either three or four men just after the bus station.

The victims were punched and kicked before being stamped upon, they required hospital treatment.

CCTV footage from further along Church Street captured the two victims prior to the attack. Police would like to trace two girls who were walking a short distance behind as they may have witnessed the assault and be able to assist the police.

One of the offenders is described as around 19 years-old, white, with dark spikey hair. Another was between 18 and 23 years-old, white, with blonde spikey hair.
