Officers investigating a collision in which a child suffered a fractured foot are appealing for the driver to contact them.

The accident occurred at approx 3.40pm on Tuesday, September 24 in Eastgate, Louth, near the junction with Priory Road.

A three-year-old child, who was walking along the pavement with his mother, tripped and stepped off the kerb. A passing car collided with him as he fell and the child sustained two fractures to his foot.

The female driver of the car did stop at the scene but police were not called at the time of the incident so no details were taken from the driver.

PC Rachel Dobson needs to trace the driver so the collision documentation can be completed.

The vehicle was a silver 4x4, possibly a Nissan Qashqai.

If you were the driver, or you know who that person was, please contact PC Dobson on 101, quoting incident number 224 of October 4 2013.
