A national group calling for the United Kingdom to leave Europe is to launch a local campaign in Louth on Saturday (March 5).
The Grassroots Out (GO) group will have representatives at Louth Market as part of a national day of action. The group is campaigning for a ‘No’ vote in the public referendum on EU membership which will be held in June.
Although primarily linked with UKIP, the group says it has already attracted support from all ‘walks of life’ and from ‘all political persuasions’.
A local spokesman for GO said they hoped to have a stall at Louth’s outdoor market.
He added: “Although UKIP are endorsing GO, we believe the only way to win the referendum is by working together.”
Local MP Victoria Atkins has already confirmed she will vote to stay in the EU.
