Town Council is first to receive ‘Quality’ status

Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea Town Council have become the first council in Lincolnshire to be awarded ‘Quality’ status for the new Local Council Award Scheme which will be launched on January 6, 2015.

It replaces the Quality Parish and Town Council Scheme and the new project celebrates the successes of the best councils and provides a framework to support councils to meet their full potential.

The scheme offers the opportunity to show councils meet a set of standards and practices set by the sector.

Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea Town Council, following the decision of the panel for their application under the pilot project for the scheme have been awarded ‘Quality’ status. Panel members felt the council met the criteria in all areas.

Mayor, Coun Tony Howard said: “I am exceptionally pleased with the news of this achievement.

“This award should reassure residents that Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council does its upmost to provide the best service to its electorate and the parish of Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea, Trusthorpe and Sandilands.”
