The party spirit was in full swing on August 6, as the Brackenborough Hotel held a special dinner, to celebrate its 25th year of trading.
The hotel has come a long way since the launch in 1990 by John and Audrey Lidgard, the parents of current owner and Managing Director, Ashley Lidgard.
The hotel, which was bought originally as a farm by the Lidgards in 1985, then opened as an 11-bedroom hotel in August 1990.
The original intention was to open four days a week as a retirement project, but due to local demand the number of bedrooms was increased.
After running his own pub in Lincolnshire, Ashley decided to join the family business, working his way up from reception, through all the departments, eventually becoming general manager, before buying the business outright.
Now a 24-bedroom hotel with the recently developed Tennyson Suite as another string to its bow, the hotel is still going from strength to strength thanks to continued local support.
Ashley said: “To say that we have achieved a collective 40 years of trading across the hotels is a great source of pride to me.
“This is due to the hard work, vision and commitment of not only my parents, but also the team I have surrounded myself with over the years - I would be nowhere without them.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the local businesses and customers that have supported us; it is their loyalty that has helped us navigate our way through both the lean and more prosperous times.”
