Prince’s Trust Explore Enterprise Workshop in Louth

The Prince’s Trust is holding an Explore Enterprise Workshop at the Louth Enterprise Centre from December 3 to 6. These have been specifically designed and aimed at helping young people fulfil their business ambitions.

Day one will cover personal goals, skills and money, day two will focus on marketing and selling, day three will focus on HMRC, pricing and managing money and day four will home in on business plans, mentoring, practical sessions and next steps.

Speakers will include a young entrepreneur who started his own business, a HMRC tax/book keeping speaker, a business mentor who volunteers for the Trust and the course is delivered by a self employed professional trainer.

“Since the successes of our earlier courses held in Louth and elsewhere in East Lindsey and Boston we have been able to assist several young people into launching and developing their own businesses. We hope that more young people who are unemployed or who are currently working less than 16 hours a week will come along to these workshop events at the Louth Enterprise Centre,” said Trudy Roberts of The Prince’s Trust.

“Two Louth young people are due to start their businesses this month and we have successfully recruited additional mentors to support the growing number of young people wishing to start their business in the East Lindsey area,” added Programme Executive, Trudy Roberts.

One young person who attended the June course this year, Lindsay Gardner has set up Spire Chocolates. She recently exhibited her chocolates at The Prince’s Trust East Midlands Celebrate Success event held at The Round House in Derby where her hand made speciality chocolates were sampled and well received.

“Lindsay who trained at Slattery’s Chocolatiers in Manchester attended the first Louth course and she is hoping to be attending local events in the run up to Christmas,” said Trudy Roberts.

The guest speaker on day one of the course will be a local business owner, Gary Turgoose who runs Koala Mobile, a successful online business and attends local markets in the East Lindsey and Lincoln areas selling mobile phone accessories.

Gary received a Prince’s Trust grant which enabled him to purchase marketing materials and set-up his own market stall.
