Young people across Lincolnshire are being invited to sign up for a life-changing and adventurous personal development course, the Prince’s Trust team programme.
The programme - run locally by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue - offers people aged 16 to 25 a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop the skills essential for success.
Team members are taken on a 12-week personal development programme involving action-packed outdoor activities like caving and climbing, as well as team challenges, community work, a job placement, and careers guidance.
Kim Jones from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “The Prince’s Trust team programme is a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop skills, as well as get work experience and qualifications.
“Around 70 per cent of those who take part go on to make great achievements in work and education. And it’s great fun!”
The course is designed to boost young people’s confidence and motivation, help them uncover hidden talents and develop skills that are crucial to the world of work. Many of the participants come from disadvantaged backgrounds and the course helps turn their lives around.
Almost three-quarters of the people who take part go on to jobs, training or education within three months of completing the fun and challenging course.
The dates for 2013 have been revealed, with 12 courses available at different times and locations throughout the year. Places are available in Lincoln, Sleaford, Skegness, Grantham, Boston, Gainsborough and Holbeach.
