POLICE say the phone providers of the police non-emergency 101 number are experiencing technical problems and some calls are not getting through at present.
A police spokesperson said: “We are asking the public to be patient and if the call is not urgent, to call back later. As soon as the problem is resolved then we will let you know.
“If a crime is in progress, your life is in danger, or you are being threatened with violence then please call 999. This number is working, but should be reserved for genuine emergencies.”
