Public meeting in Mablethorpe to discuss future of Monks Dyke Tennyson College

A public meeting to discuss the future of the Mablethorpe site of Monks Dyke Tennyson College is taking place tonight (Monday, August 17).

The meeting will take place at The Dunes Complex in Mablethorpe from 7.30pm.

A new campaign group to save secondary education in Mablethorpe has been set up to fight the possible closure of Monks Dyke Tennyson College’s Mablethorpe site.

The new group, Save Tennyson - Save Our Town had invited new MP Victoria Atkins along to the meeting as well as the school’s headteacher and chair of governors.

Group founder, Craig Pemberton said: “we have invited our new MP because we want her to understand how deeply we feel about our school.

“We need her to fight our corner with Lincolnshire County Council and the Department for Education to keep secondary education in Mablethorpe.

“The school closing would be a tragedy for our town. We can’t let it happen.”
