GUEST star at this year’s Carrington Rally (May 29-30) will be the unique Batmobile – the fabulous vehicle that assisted Batman and Robin in their fight against numerous villains, including The Joker.
And two lucky prize winners will get the chance to ride round the main arena.
One of the most famous cars in the world, the 1.75 tonnes Batmobile, which can reach a top speed of 110mph, is easily recognised with its sleek black and red finish and legendary red Batman logos on the doors and wheels.
It has numerous special features such as a working flame thrower, rockets, bat detector, police lights, bat phone, bat antennae and other ‘top secret’ crime-fighting equipment. Touch a button and goodness knows what will happen next.
The Batmobile has toured extensively round the world, turning heads wherever it goes.
The competition to win a ride is free to enter and is exclusively for visitors to the Rally – so you have to be there to be in it to win it.
One lucky winner will be announced on each day of the show followed by a ride in the Batmobile at an appointed time.
Of course, there’s much more to see and do at Carrington Rally: steam engines, vintage and classic tractors, cars, motorbikes and commercial vehicles, a children’s fun fair, trade stands, Pedro the Clown, Horse-drawn ploughing (Sunday) and stage performances from Boston Grammar School, Giles School Cheerleaders and magical Mark Watson.
If you’re feeling a bit peckish or thirsty there are catering outlets around the showground and a licensed bar.
Saturday sees the annual vintage auction and auto-jumble sale while at 5.30pm on Sunday many of the vintage vehicles on display will gather for a Road Run down to Boston town centre and back.
Music lovers can sit back and enjoy live sessions on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Representing great value for money, admission prices (all on the gate) are £6, £3 children and £15 family (2 adults and 2 children).
Camping and caravan facilities are available on site; the full weekend price of £40 (pre-booked, £50 after May 23) includes entrance to the Rally on both days.
