After six years as the Rector of the Benefice of Fotherby and North Somercotes, with Grainthorpe and Conisholme, the Rev Sue Allison is heading across the Wolds to take up a new post.
Next month she will be begin her new ministry as Rector of the Bain Valley Group, which includes Tattershall, Coningsby, Kirkby on Bain and Roughton.
“I have enjoyed getting to know the cultures of both the marsh and wolds villages,” she said.
“It has been quite a challenge in winter travelling along the narrow roads, but always a joy to look at the beautiful landscape.
Lincolnshire born and bred, Sue, 54, was ordained Deacon in Louth St James’ Church in 2006 and priested the follow year in Lincoln Cathedral.
After service as curate for the West Grimsby team, she took up her current position and 19 months into the post was asked to be Rural Dean for Louthesk.
She is also the area’s Agricultural Chaplain, which has seen her involved with the local farming community, with plenty of hands on support, from lambing to mucking out pigs.
“It has been a wonderful time and I will certainly miss all the people and the ministry team that has developed over the last six years,” added Sue, who’s final service will be this Sunday, November 1, at Grainthorpe.
