Sunday (June 14) saw an exciting scene for spectators on the beach in Mablethorpe and the RNLI Lifeboat Crews took part in a practice exercise with the new Sikorsky helicopter for the first time which turned out to be a successful day of practice.

The helicopter is run by the Coastguard and comes from the private helicopter company Bristow. Crews were able to test out the new winching system the Sikorsky has which is nowkept at Humberside Airport. This enables the helicopter to get to Mablethorpe in just under 10 minutes, giving crews the best chance of success in the case of an emergency.
