RNLI lifeboat launched in Mablethorpe in search of missing person

Mablethorpe’s RNLI was sent out at 8.40am this morning (Monday) to assist in the search for a missing vulnerable person.

Humber coastguard activated the pagers and both Mablethorpe RNLI boats were launched alongside police teams and three coastguard teams.

The ILB (D class inshore boat) conducted a shoreline search with the Atlantic 75 further out to sea.

The missing person was found safe and well at 9.30am and all teams were stood down.

Helmswoman, Karen Cartwright commented: “This shout just goes to show the importance of crew training. I had a new crewman on the boat with me who stayed calm and followed instructions because of the training he has undertaken.”

Both boats returned to the shore by 9.45am and were refulled and washed down ready for the next service.
