A new road in Mablethorpe has been named after a well known RNLI Lifeboat Station Manager in the town.
Tuplin Road will ‘live on’ in memory of Bill Tuplin who died last year. He joined Mablethorpe RNLI in 1969 as a crewman on the D-class Lifeboat. Over the years, Bill was involved in many rescues -in excess of 600 - as crew, helm, deputy launching authority then later as Lifeboat operations manager. His wife Shirley and daughters Linda and Julie, along with the crew, are very proud to have Tuplin Road named after the lifeboat legend.
