Thousands of runners are getting ready to take part in this week’s Mablethorpe Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday (October 4).

Organisers have said that running numbers ‘are up’ this year ‘especially for the half marathon event.’

The Royal British Legion has also come on board to support the marathon and to reflect this new partnership, a new design has been developed for the t-shirt that is presented to all the runners on the day - after they have completed the marathon.

Tony Howard, treasurer of the Mablethorpe Marathon committee commented: “The committee are totally indebted to the Royal British Legion and the volunteers, both old and new, who come forward every year and help give us our tag line ‘The Friendly One.’”

The marathons will be starting and finishing from Monks Dyke Tennyson College in Seaholme Road in the town.

If you are in Mablethorpe on Sunday morning, why not pop along and show your support to all the runners that are taking part this year.
