Sir Peter Tapsell MP visited Cordeaux Academy to meet GCSE Citizenship students. They have worked on campaigns such as calling for compulsory DNA testing, reducing the driving age to 16, calling for the minimum wage for under 16s and a Syrian refugee campaign.
They researched their subjects, used social media to get support and wrote to politicians including Sir Peter and President Obama.
Sir Peter talked with the students about the issues. On the minimum wage campaign he said: “In Spain and Greece 60 per cent of under 25s are unemployed. A minimum wage in Spain would be absolutely meangingless.”
