Festival-goers in Louth can expect an evening of excitement and explosive outdoor fun when the popular SO Festival returns to the town on Tuesday June 28 (6-8pm).
The family-friendly free arts festival will take place across seven locations from June 25 through to July 3, bringing a programme of exciting entertainment sure to wow audiences across the region.
Returning again to East Lincolnshire, the festival is always a must-visit for local people and visitors to the area and this year is no different as popular act Lost in Translation Circus’ The Fliphouse comes to town.
Lorna Fulton, the Festival Director for SO Festival said she cannot wait for SO Festival to begin.
She said: “Last year’s festival was fantastic and very popular with everyone who attended and this year promises to be no different.
“Yet again there will be even more to see and do as we welcome a host of exciting new acts and entertainment which will make this the best year yet.”
Lost in Translation will be entertaining visitors with their Fliphouse extravaganza, welcoming them into the wonderful world of their travelling hotel, run by the quirky inhabitants of their touring circus world – a patched together, mismatched world, where a washing line becomes a place to stay and creating a meal becomes a dangerous game. With live music, comedy, quirky characters and spectacular circus skills, look out for an amusing event of unexpected happenings.
This year’s festival is inspired by ‘the elements’ – earth, air, fire and water - and we’ll be showcasing jaw-dropping acts that will inspire, excite and amaze the whole family.
SO Festival was awarded National Portfolio Funding from Arts Council England in 2014 with the aim to promote and present the best festival arts and entertainment to new audiences and creating new opportunities and experiences.
Entry and all events at SO Festival are free (except the Lincolnshire School Prom event) with the line-up and festival programme is available to download from the website at www.sofestival.org. You can also follow @SOFestival (Twitter), or www.facebook.com/SOfestival.
•The SO Festival will visit Mablethorpe, Horncastle, Alford, Louth, Spilsby and Woodhall Spa before finishing in Skegness for a three-day spectacular.
