Soprano Anne Fridal returns for Louth event

International dramatic soprano, Anne Fridal, is returning to Louth in November, due to popular demand.

Anne won the hearts of hundreds of locals last year when she gave a concert with Louth Male Voice Choir.

Her huge personality and formidable singing talent are acclaimed the world over and now they can be appreciated again at a Musical Soiree with Louth Male Voice Choir’s Quadwrangle.

The evening will be held in the Conoco Phillips Room, Louth Library, on Friday November 22, from 7.30pm.

Also at this event the CD recording of some of the favourite songs from last year’s concert will be launched.

Anne hails from Trinidad and Tobago.

She was educated at the Royal College of Music in London.

Her first professional engagement was with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera playing the role of Lily in Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess.

She got rave reviews for her performance as Serena in the Raymond Gubbay production at the Royal Festival Hall.

When she came to Louth last year she gave a performance in St James’s Church, supported by Louth Male Voice Choir.

There was a large audience for the concert.

At the end Anne received a standing ovation after the spiritual Ride On King Jesus and the audience were rewarded with a rendition of Habanera from the opera Carmen followed by Funiculli, Funiculla with Anne and the choir. In the week she was in Louth she charmed everyone she met.
