Stained glass window at Strubby celebrates Lincolnshire’s farming history

A MUCH-loved former church warden has given an extra special parting gift – a spectacular window celebrating Lincolnshire’s farming history.

Arthur Farrow has handed down his role after 25 years at St Oswald’s Church in Strubby.

As a gift to his beloved church Arthur has forked out thousands of pounds to pay for the new window, which now stands proudly in the church.

The window itself is a masterpiece of stained glass, with a theme to celebrate Arthur’s other love, farming.

A dedicated service planned for Sunday, September 30, will commemorate the gift and thank Arthur for his years of hard work.

The service will be conducted by Canon Stephen Holdaway and the Rev Lorraine Turner.

Local people are invited to go along and can
