A SPLENDID afternoon of games and entertainment was prepared for the residents and staff at Stewton House Nursing Home’s annual Summer Fair that was held recently.
The day was filled with a variety of events going on which included a number of different stalls, a raffle and tombola.
Also a bouncy castle and games like hook a duck were put on for the children throughout the day.
Cream Teas were a popular order of the day for the residents, staff and visitors.
Head of Housekeeping Caroline Smith-Green, organiser of this year’s event said: “We were very lucky to have such great weather on the day, the sun shone all afternoon for us.
“The cream teas proved as popular as ever and this year we had a bouncy castle for the younger visitors.
“I would like to thank everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and tombola and all the volunteers who helped run stalls.”
Local singer Jenny Webb was on hand to entertain the crowds on the day. The fair ended up raising a massive £640 which will go towards the residents fund.
The money raised from the day will be spent to help pay for visiting entertainers to entertain the residents throughout the year at the home.
