THE St Mary’s Church Committee at East Barkwith took a break from raising funds for the restoration of the church tower and arranged the annual harvest supper in aid of the running costs for the Parish Church.
A good number of guests gathered in the village hall to enjoy a meal of shepherd’s pie served with vegetables followed by a lovely selection of delicious puddings from which to make their choice and all had been invited to take along their own choice of drinks and glasses.
Sheila Minns was door steward, Jane Perkins, Anne Stamp, Maxine Gibson and Clare Rawls served the food and Yvonne Bryson was on duty selling tickets for the main raffle with lots of prizes.
A special raffle for £40 worth of meat donated by Andrew Parsonson was run by Mike Perkins and Richard Stamp and the winner was Enid Hotchin of Donington on Bain.
Proceeds amounted to £715 thanks to those who gave their support.
