Sutton on Sea library volunteers hail new opening times

SUTTON on Sea library volunteers have eased worries about funding cuts by announcing that the site will open for an extra fourth session each week, from January 6, 2012.

Sutton on Sea 1st Residents Association chairman Andrew Ferryman along with library steering group volunteer Steve Palmer met with Lincolnshire County Council library services representatives and it was recognised that the library’s current three sessions per week wasn’t sufficient for demand.

Steve Palmer, volunteer press officer for the steering group, said: “The library is, along with other village assets such as the Meridale, very important for the village community.”

The library, in Broadway, will be open on Fridays from 10am until 1pm to add to the existing sessions on Mondays from 10am until 1pm, Wednesdays 10am until 6pm and Saturdays 10am until 1pm.
