A teenager from Sutton on Sea has become only the second person in Lincolnshire to receive a Nature Ranger Award from the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

Jordan Havell, 13, was recently presented with his award by Margot Charlton, the Alford and Mablethorpe Wildlife Watch Leader at a presentation in Rigsby Wood in Alford.

“It feels brilliant to have won this award. It’s a great feeling receiving it.

“I was a bit surprised, as I wasn’t expecting this award and my mum knew the whole time, so it was my mum who surprised me with the good news.”

To receive this award Jordan had to write a report on a wildlife topic which then had to be accessed by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

His chosen tropic was Seals and Cetaceans of the East Coast.

This was the icing on the cake for Jordan, after he also recently found out that some crops that he has been busy growing will now be appearing at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
