‘Syria situation is complex’ - Louth MP Sir Peter

LOUTH MP Sir Peter Tapsell told Parliament it was ‘about time’ the United Nations began to understand the civil war in Syria.

He said the 350,000-strong Christian minority are ‘supporting the Assad regime because they know that if that regime were replaced by a Sunni Government, they would be the chief victims’.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said Sir Peter’s point was ‘well made’ and that ‘he is right to say that the situation is complex’.
