Louth ladies choir, The Meridian Singers brought a whole heap of Christmas cheer into town with their latest Wassail concert .

The singers entertained what was a very ‘appreciative and responsive’ audience with a varied programme of Christmas songs and carols.

The night also included a sense of humour and visual parody in the form of poems, readings and a Nativity ‘playlet’.

A number of these items certainly had an unexpected ‘twist in the familiar tale.’

Michael Flowers, the music director, had written his own amazing arrangements for a number of the traditional carols as well as an innovative version of ‘Jingle Bells’.

It is now hoped that the Wassail Concert becomes an annual event as The Meridian Singers bring want to continue to bring their unique form of entertainment to the people of Louth and further afield.
