A Saltfleetby couple have given an old Grade Two Listed Building a new lease of life and recently opened convenience store ‘The Shop.’
Rebecca and David James have already run their local village shop for the last six years and decided to branch out. The couple purchased the premises last year and have been working tirelessly to get it back up to scratch.
The Shop officially opened in its central location in the Cornmarket on April 9.
Mrs James told the Leader: “We thought it would be great to get an old premises back up and running.
“We offer everything from confectionery, fresh food and snacks, to tobacco, alcohol and the lottery, and have a ‘Mr Coolit’ slush machine ready for the summer - all at competitive prices.
“We also have a self-serve drinks machine, providing bean to cup coffee, latte, cappuccino, espresso and Americano, as well as hot chocolate and fresh brew tea - only £1.50 each. Next to this is a range of cakes, muffins and cookies.
“Our shop is ideal for those on the go, short-stay visitors and nearby workers.”
To celebrate the opening of their new shop, the couple are offering a free chocolate bar to every customer upon purchase on Wednesday and Thursday only this week. (April 20 and 21).
