Ms Walsh said: “The previous shop I had was very big, and decided it would be great to come into the town centre with smaller premises and we officially opened on April 2.”

But the business has now been completely re-branded and The Urban Gentleman was born.

Mr Howden told the Leader how he wanted the business to be a classic representation of a traditional barbers .

He said: “We wanted to create a traditional barbers that was something different and that is reflected in the decor. It’s relevant of the time and is a little bit old school.

“We wanted to have the style of a gentleman’s club. Where men can pop in whenever they need a cut or trim, sit down, relax and enjoy the experience.”

But what also gets people’s attention is the gold leaf letter writing of their shop sign, which has been turning a few heads.

The shop is ever evolving and Nicola and Darron are hoping to bring in a traditional shave very soon.

The barbers shop is open Tuesday, 8.30am-3pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8.30am-5pm and Saturday,8.30am-2pm.
