A would-be thief fled the scene after he was disturbed during an attempted burglary in Holton le Clay on Sunday.

Police say a man entered a house in Osbourne Drive via an unlocked door at around 3am on Sunday morning, but was challenged and fled.

At about the same time thieves also tried to enter a parked car in the same area.

Police say the two incidents may be linked to a blue Ford Focus seen in the area at the same time and anyone with information is urged to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 97 of June 30.

On Saturday, the day before, a black Ford Ka was stolen from the Market Place in North Thoresby between 2pm and 5pm.

Police are seeking information in relation to suspicious people hanging around the Market Place at that time and say the thieves may have arrived at the scene on bicycles.
