A young boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a van on the A1031 near to Theddlethorpe St Helens.

The collision too place about half a mile past Mears Bank at 7.30pm on Friday, March 13 and involved a white Ford Transit driving towards Theddlethorpe St Helens from the Mablethorpe direction.

The local 14-year-old boy was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) with serious head injuries. He remains in a critical condition. The 33-year-old local man who was driving the van was uninjured.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who was on the road at around that time who witnessed the collision or who saw the pedestrian or the van prior to it, to contact them. T
