A LIVESTOCK transporter, carrying around 180 pigs was involved in a collision earlier this morning on the A157 Station Road at Legbourne, five miles south-east of Louth.
At 7.55am the HGV tipped onto its side and has damaged an electricity pole.
Fire crews and police from around the Louth area were at the scene.
The road is currently closed while recovery services and animal welfare agencies arrange to remove the pigs.
The driver of the lorry is not injured but it is not yet clear how many animals have been hurt in the incident.
