Man, 86, seriously injured in crash on A153 at Belchford

An 86-year-old man was seriously injured when his black Austin car was in a collision with a white 4x4 on the A153 at Belchford on Sunday morning.

Police were called to the A153 Belchford crossroads at just before 11am following the collision on the road between Louth and Horncastle.

An 86-year-old manm, who was driving the black Austin, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, believed to be head injuries.

The passenger of this vehicle was taken to Grimsby Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a white 4x4, was uninjured.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident but eventually fully re-opened.
