Man freed from car after A16 crash at Burwell

A man was cut free from a car on the A16 at Burwell last night (Thursday) after a two vehicle collision.

The crash occurred at around 8.45pm and involved a Fiat Punto and a Seat Ibiza.

Police said one man was stuck in one of the cars and was cut free by firefighters using hydraulic gear.

He was taken to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital “complaining of back pain”.

The other driver was said to be uninjured.

The road was closed for two hours from 9.30pm while the man was cut free and the scene cleared.
