Teenage girl injured after falling 10 feet from bicycle into dyke in Covenham

A teenage girl was taken to hospital after falling 10 feet from her bicycle down a steep bank in Covenham late on Wednesday night.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service were scrambled to the scene in Firebeacon Lane at 9.38pm.

Fire and rescue used a short ladder to assist the girl who was then placed in a spinal board, but was conscious and breathing upon being rescued.

The girl was taken to Grimsby Hospital by the ambulance crew.

Lincolnshire Police say there were no reports of a road collision and confirmed their officers were not called to the incident.
