A car has hit the wall in front of Louth War Memorial in Eastgate this evening, Sunday March 15.
PC 431 Palmer said the collision took place at 8.45pm and involved one black Fiat Punto.
The car broke through the wall surrounding Louth War Memorial. The memorial itself is not believed to have suffered any major damage but a stone shield at the base of the structure listing soldiers names has been knocked over.
PC Palmer added that if anyone had witnessed a black Fiat Punto driving erratically to call 101 with incident number 363 of March 15.
She could not give the Leader further details of the driver or the car involved.
