Police are working with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue to probe the cause of this morning’s (Monday’s) blaze at the Louth FC ground.
A police spokesman said: “It is too early to determine if this was a deliberate ignition and we are working with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue to establish the cause.”
Police said there had been no injuries and it hadn’t been necessary to evacuate nearby homes.
Monday 07.49am • Eight fire engines were called to a massive blaze this morning (Monday) at a derelict football stand in Louth.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue was alerted shortly before 3am to the blaze in Park Avenue.
Three hours ago fire and rescue said the stand and social club were “well alight”.
It was reported the fire was located in the first floor and roof.
Two hours ago firefighters scaled the incident down to five appliances and reported “steady progress being made”.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
