Following the news that the Tillett’s store in Mercer Row was set to close at the end of February, the owners have been thrown a lifeline after finding new premises in the New Market Hall.
Tillett’s made the announcement via their Facebook page on today (Tuesday February 10), just two days after announcing that the Mercer Row store was set to close due to high rent prices and business rates.
This afternoon, owner Melanie Tillett said: “We hope to be back open in early March at our new location in the New Market Hall.
“We are thrilled to be bits to be staying in Louth and the staff are fully behind it.
“The New Market Hall appears to have a very exciting future which we are now pleased to be part of. Larders Coffee house has already shown its confidence in the shopping centre, opening its second outlet.”
Melanie added: “After we announced that we were closing, we were inundated with messages - we had a phenomenal response. If it wasn’t for the positive reaction we had, we would have probably just left it.”
Tillett’s is in the process of creating a new Facebook page specifically for the Louth branch, so keep an eye out online in the near future and give them a ‘like’.
