Hundreds of people gathered in Eastgate this morning (November 8) to observe the Remembrance Sunday parade and pay their respects at Louth’s War Memorial.
The parade set off from Northgate at 10.20am and marched down to the War Memorial, where individuals and organisations laid wreaths and marked the two minutes silence at 11am.
Among those in attendance were The Royal British Legion, Louth Town Councillors, Victoria Atkins MP, Scout and Guide groups, cadet groups, Lincolnshire Police, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, military representatives and many others.
Thankfully, the long-awaited repairs to Louth’s War Memorial were completed just in time for the commemorations.
• Remembrance Sunday photographs will be included in the next edition of the Louth Leader on Wednesday November 11.
